FUSION CORNER
A fusion procedure is when two bones are surgically joined into one bone. This is often used in foot and ankle surgery for the treatment of arthritis. It is very effective in providing pain relief and improving function. Naturally, patients are concerned and worried with regards to the amount of movement and ability to do activities following such a procedure. This fusion corner is to educate patients, based on previous cases, in order to give further information on the mobility and the movement following a specific fusion procedure. Please look at my patient information leaflets on this website for further information on the specific fusion surgery. I hope that you find this useful and reassuring.
